"My Body Is My Temple And Asanas Are My Prayers” - B.K.S. Iyengar
"Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Many of us have not really used our bodies properly. Some have used our bodies incorrectly, and others (...) have neglected or even AB-USED them. Regardless of how we treat our bodies one fact remains unchanged, namely that we ARE God's creatures."
"If we want to be one with God and our body tells us: "If you don't take me to Him with you, I will make you fail in reaching the union with Him", we can observe a kind of continuous tension and struggle taking place here. Our life is very precious, that's why we need a complete change of perspective about how to understand its fullness. The union of mind, body and spirit, and thus listening to the body - this is how this great change is eventually achieved. This change that we all must adopt considering the sanctity of the body and reaching the fullness in God." - Fr. Joe Pereira (Senior Iyengar Teacher, Catholic Priest from Mumbai, founder of Kripa Foundation, 45 years of practice under BKS Iyengar)
Paulina Stróż, M.Ed. and a certified B.K.S. Iyengar yoga
teacher (Junior III; preparing to Senior I) holding a diploma of The Iyengar Yoga Memorial Ramamani Institute in Pune where she has been practicing every two years since 2003 under the guidance of B. K. S. Iyengar and his children Gita and Prashant with a desire to maintain the purity of the tradition.
She has been into Iyengar yoga since 1995 and regularly improves her practice by participating annually in various workshops in Poland and abroad, learning from the most qualified teachers, such as: Faeq & Corin Biria (France), Lois Steinberg (USA) - a specialist in medical techniques of Iyengar yoga, Ritta Keller (Germany). Over the last years, the teaching of Fr. Joe Pereira (Senior, Mumbai, India) has become of particular importance to her. Paulina invites Fr. Pereira (49 years of yoga practice with Guruji Iyengar) to Poland every year to The Iyengar Yoga Convention in Wroclaw (recently in May 2013 – 2017, next in May 2018) and she also travels to India every year to stay in direct contact with him.
In 2013 Paulina completed another level of teaching course, passed her exams with Ritta Keller and was given Junior II degree. In the exam session in 2015 she got another diploma with Junior III degree on it. Currently she is preparing for Senior Level examinations.
In 2000, Paulina opened Namaste Iyengar Yoga Centre in Wroclaw which operates daily and runs classes for beginners, advanced students, senior people, pregnant women and children. Throughout the year the school holds weekend workshops, home and away, international conventions with Joe Pereira, Marcia Monroe, Sri Arun HS, as well as holiday yoga courses in various destinations in Poland, Croatia and India. In the autumn of 2017, an all-year Advanced Course will be opened for those wanting to further develop and hone their yoga practice.
